In this episode of Cow Guy Close, I joined the conversation on a serious and timely issue: the growing tension surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the broader question of how the world should respond.
We discussed the public disagreement between President Trump and Pope Leo XIV, particularly the Pope’s calls for a ceasefire and diplomacy. While I respect the moral and spiritual perspective of religious leadership, I believe it is important to recognize that geopolitical realities require a different framework.
Not every adversary can be approached through traditional diplomacy or pacifist ideals, especially when dealing with regimes that have a long history of violence and instability.
When nuclear weapons are part of the equation, the rules change. We must think carefully about security, deterrence, and the responsibility of leadership to protect not only their own citizens, but global stability.
This conversation is not about dismissing faith, it is about understanding that faith and national security operate in different spheres, and both require wisdom.
