This week, Ray Dalio’s warning landed hard when he described the United States as a “tinderbox”—a nation dangerously divided.
As we approach America’s 250-year mark, a point in history when many great nations begin to fray, I believe we must take the signs seriously. I share my concern that the division coming out of Congress and the growing hostility between Democrats and Republicans is leading us down a suicidal path as a nation—where partisan interests matter more than the good of the country. I don’t want it to take something terrible to “reset” our country—but we cannot ignore what is happening right in front of us.
